The Great American Think-Off, held in New York Mills, MN, is America’s leading amateur philosophy competition.  Topic this year was “Does Poetry Matter?”   I was one of the four finalists. The debate was held on June 11 and an audience of about 200 voted that YES... Poetry DOES matter.  Details.


Trolley Car Press in the Big Apple. WE WON! On May 23rd Third and Long: a novel for hard times by Bob Katz won the coveted 2011 Benjamin Franklin Award for the best work of popular fiction from an independent publisher. The award was presented at a dinner in New York City as part of Book Expo America.  We celebrated... quietly, in midwestern style... but we celebrated!
